An extremely fine and rare huge Ming dynasty white jade boy. The extremely finely carved jade boy with joyful countenance and lively posture. Although the carving is quite flat, it is extremely fine and detailed. The jade of an even milky white tone with some attractive dark stains, great oily lustre and minor natural fissures. It was probably imperial. Date: Ming dynasty; Height: 10cm; Conditions: excellent.

This is a very fine and rare 18th or 19th century white jade sutra plaque. It was made of a very fine piece of mutton fat white jade of an even and very pale milky white tone. It was skilfully carved in intaglio and gilt with the Chinese version of Prajnaparamita Hridaya Sutra, the Heart Sutra on both sides translated by the famous Tang dynasty monk, Xuanzang. This is a very rare and large 19th century two colours Burmese jadeite belt hook. Its beautiful natural yellow colour was wittingly made use of in forming the golden li-dragon above celadon clouds (Jinlong Qingyun in Chinese), a rebus of auspicion.
