Of boat form with a chimney-like structure and an opening at centre, two loops, two small openings on both ends, body painted with fish net pattern in black. A very fine and rare Neolithic period Majiayao Culture painted amphora. Of fine and nice carrot form, painted all over with geometric swirls and circular patterns, applied with two superbly sculpted gear-form side loops, surface burnished smooth. Finely painted with geometric patterns with roundels in black all over the inside of the basin, the central roundel with anthropomorphic mask design, further painted with a band of geometric patterns in black on the outside, flat mouthrim, two appliqué handles on both sides, burnished all over except the plain and undecorated flat base.
