This is a 19th century Cantonese famille rose plate. It was finely painted and gilt with a scene of ladies and children in a wealthy home by a stream, mountains and cascades within a border of butterflies amongst scattered flowers. Diameter: 7.85 inches; Height: 1 inch. Condition: minor gilt rubbing at rim, an almost invisible hairline.

This is a rare Korean Choson dynasty (AD 1392 - 1910), 18th/19th century white glazed bevelled jar. It is covered overall in a white glaze inside and outside. The base was stuck with kiln grits. White was the sacred colour of Korea during the 19th century and so white glazed wares like this jar were the official wares of Korea at that time. This is a rare Chinese Kangxi period (AD 1662 - 1722) blue and white large conical bowl. It was finely decorated with the pattern of the seven sages of the bamboo grove. Its condition is very good with only one faint and tight hairline and minor glaze frittings on the rim.Dating: Kangxi period; Diameter: 8.45 inches; diameter of foot: 2.8 inches; height: 3.5 inches. Provenance: Christie's London, 15 July 2005 Lot No. 8.

This is a large Guangxu mark and period (AD 1875 - 1908) porcelain birthday dish decorated in iron red and gold with five bats surrounding the longevity character, shou, the 'Three Abundances' (peach, finger citron and pomegranate) and a central medallion with the 'Three Abundances', which are rebuses of longevity, prosperity and fecundity. This is a large Chinese Yongzheng period (AD 1722 - 1735) minyao copper red glazed, sang de boeuf (ox blood) or Langyao porcelain bowl. It has a glossy glaze of crushed raspberry colour and white rim where the glaze thinned. It has a very well-balanced shape. The wall is thick. The characteristic square-shaped mark within a double circle in underglaze blue on the bottom shows that this bowl dates to the Kangxi period.
