An important huge 18th century zitan mounted marble floor screen. The huge piece of marble has intriguing natural patterns that look like a Qilin or grasshopper. The pattern appears black on one side and green on the opposite side. The zitan frame is from the 18th century and is richly patinated. The marble is contemporary with the frame. Its acme quality indicates that it maybe imperial in origin. The zitan stand however is a modern replacement since the original one was destroyed during the Cu ...click for details

An extremely rare early Choson period, early 15th century sanggam inlaid punchong vase. It shows influence from fine Chinese Yuan dynasty porcelains. If you examine its shape, you will find that it is a combination of maebyong and applique Yuan blue and white 'guan' jar. The layered decoration with seawaves, palm leaves, lappet borders and the main central floral motif also shows influence of Yuan blue and white porcelains while retaining the naturalistic and simplistic beauty of Korean ...click for details
