A very fine large early 18th century bronze censer. Of attractive compressed form supported on three short feet with rounded tip, the handles are of superbly-modelled bridge-form, heavily casted of a fine and dense bronze of purplish brown tone, thick old patina, casted on the base with a 16 characters mark 'Daming Xuande wunian jiandu gongbu guanchen Wu Bangzuo zao' which means 'Made by Wu Bangzuo, the Director of the Imperial Workshop, in the fifth year of the Ming Xuande reign' ...click for details

A very rare Tang dynasty Buddhist gold coin. The only other known Tang dynasty gold coin is from the tomb of Emperor Wu Zetian's daughter. The thin gold coin with a square hole in the centre moulded and carved with four Chinese characters which mean 'Received by the Western Sky (Xifang jieyin)' on one side within a circle. A rare and fine Kangxi period but Jiajing marked underglaze three colour vase. It was finely painted with the four auspicious mythical beasts or silingshou, which are the dragons, phoenixes, tigers and lions in underglaze blue and red in reserve on a powder blue ground. The rocks were carved into the porcelain and enamelled in celadon. All underglaze colours are bright and brilliant. The base bears the six character Jiajing mark in double circles in underglaze blue. A very rare shipwreck transitional blue and white floral sleeve vase. It was finely decorated with magnolia and bamboo sprays in an attractive underglaze blue tone. Although it was recovered from shipwreck, it is in flawless condition. Usually only a very small percentage of items recovered from a shipwreck is in perfect condition. Date: transitional period, 17th century; Height: 20.9cm; Condition: flawless but probably stabilized by chemicals after recovery from shipwreck.
