A rare Qianlong period Canton enamel bird and flower dish. Finely enamelled with a garden scene with roses, peonies, chrysanthemum, a kingfisher and a butterfly in reserve on a yellow brocade ground. The yellow brocade ground and the dragon roundel on the base indicate that it is an Imperial tribute from Canton. This type usually sells for over $8000 at auctions. Date: Qianlong period (AD1735-1796); Diameter: 27cm or 10.75inches; Conditions: Good with minor cracks to the enamel commensurate with age.
