| This is a very rare Chinese Ming dynasty Wanli period (AD 1572 - 1620) blue and white porcelain jar. It was painted with a scene of scholars playing music and go in a fenced garden which is a common motif of Chinese Wanli period imperial porcelains. A Wanli period blue and white jar shown in the last photo was just sold in an auction in Germany for Euro 4120 or about $4500. The jar here is even rarer. Dating: Wanli period (AD 1572 - 1620); Height: 4.75 inches; Max. diameter: 5.9 inches. Condition: Excellent except normal rim fritting for this type of wares.
