| Full refund will be given anytime in the future if this item is proven to be a modern fake after the sale. Oxford TL test will be promptly arranged for an additional $650 upon request. An extremely rare and fine Song dynasty Qingbai glazed chrysanthemum stoneware wine ewer. It has a perfectly potted elegant shape. It was covered overall in a pure unctuous light blue glaze except the unglazed base where the charred foot can be seen. It was decorated with beautiful carved chrysanthemum scrolls on its shoulder under the fine Qingbai glaze. It has a faint and short crack and a tiny chip on its cover and is in overall excellent condition. This type of fine Qingbai ewer is extremely rare and with the carved floral decorations is even rarer. I can recall no more than five Qingbai ewers which appeared in major auctions in the past 5 years and only a few on display in major museums around the world, such as the one in the British Museum. This item is the consignment of an important local collector in Hong Kong who has kept it for decades. It is not a modern fake and not recently excavated. Date: Song dynasty (AD960 - AD1127); Height: 8 inches, Max. width: 6 1/2 inches; Condition: one short and faint hairline and one small chip on cover, overall good condition. | |||||||||||||||
