| An extremely rare and important large 19th century zitan mounted dream stone floor screen. One side of this rare marble dream stone is naturally gold coloured and scattered with silvery mineral specks. On the other side, the natural green patterns form a fascinating foggy landscape scene. I doubt if there is another extant similar marble dream stone. It was mounted in a zitan stand finely carved and reticulated with lilong and phoenix patterns. A very similar zitan floor screen (shown in the last photo) is in the Gugong Museum, Beijing. If it did not come from the Gugong Palace, it would have come from an extremely virtuous family during the 19th century. Date: 19th century; Height: 84.9cm; Width: 58.5cm; Depth: 32.3cm; Condition: one sealed short age crack as shown in the last photo; covered in red paint during the Cultural Revolution.
