Authentic Antique Indian religious relief carved from white marble and depicting three Indian deities seated on the throne in Latisana in the arched niches flanked by attendant’s elephants and lions, India 11th – 12th century. Over the centuries the marble took beige yellow tone. CONDITION: There are some chips on the surface of the figures and remains of old paint and cement since in the time of the Muslim conquest of India many shrines and temples were destroyed and the elements were used as building materials. MEASUREMENTS: Length: 46.5 cm (18 ¼ in). Height: 15.2cm (6 in) and weighs approximately 26 pounds. Details: steel blade decorated with gold damascened floral pattern (99% is intact), haft is made from several elements of old ivory? and decorated in red and black, steel gold Koftgari cup on the end. Overall length: 19 ½ inches (49,5cm). Condition: in good condition consider its age except for some cracks in the ivory (please see the pictures).
