Superb quality antique bronze sculpture of a muscular male nude Greek warrior. The warrior is wearing a classical helmet and is holding in his left hand an ellipsoidal shield while throwing a spear. This remarkable and powerful sculpture is executed with very fine details by the Polish sculptor F. Zwierzejewski, circa 1900. The sculpture is signed by the artist. It is in excellent condition with a nice old patina and is mounted on a marble base. Measurements including base: height 20 ½ inches, width from back of spear to tip of shield 14 inches, weight: 18 lbs.
