SOLD 

Sword Yatagan in the scabbard with characteristic walrus ear shaped hilt. DETAILS: the hilt is made of two large pieces of walrus ivory mounted in gilded copper and set with raised fluted almond - shaped corals and two round red stones on the ricasso. The recurved single edged blade with narrow fuller is decorated with silver inlaid Arabic calligraphy and Star, the wooden scabbard is covered with burgundy velvet with eastern silver fittings decorated with engraved foliage and scrolls, locket of the scabbard is in the form of an animal head. The Yatagan sword was very popular not only in Turkey but also in many Balkan states and some Eastern European countries such as Ukraine and Hungary. The total length with the scabbard: 83cm (32 5/8 inches).

A very attractive, circa 1900 AD., Islamic Moroccan dagger Nimcha. Details: extremely curved steel blade engraved on both sides with tribal ornamentation, the brass mounted wooden hilt, scabbard inlaid with brass, white metal wires and red colored panels. The overall length in a straight line is 24 inches (61cm).

Early 20th century, large Kindjal of the Caucasian Royal Guard to the King of Jordan. Details: made in the Caucasian Georgian pattern, double edged spear pointed blade with fullers, the hilt and the scabbard made of copper heavily coated with silver, beautifully hand executed in filigree decoration and deeply engraved with Islamic ornaments. Overall length: 52 cm (20 ½ in).

A 19th century Islamic Dervish sword Kaskara from the period - time of the Mahdi (Mohammed Ahmed 1848-85) revolutionary insurrection against colonial rules in Sudan. Details: the wooden grip wrapped in leather with steel cross guard, double edged steel blade with central fuller (the blade most likely old European blade), in its original leather scabbard. Overall length: 101cm (31 ¾ inches). Condition: nice age patina.

SOLD 

An outstanding Antique 19th century Islamic Arabian Sword Shamshir–Saif with extremely long palash type single edged blade with one fuller. The hilt with bone grips is enclosed by silver straps, solid silver cross-guard and the pommel decorated in traditional Arab manner are connected by a double silver chain. Massive silver scabbard with wooden inserts is engraved in the typical tribal motifs and applied with twelve gold panels elegantly chiseled with floral design. The scabbard comes with its original, woven with silk and silver, carrying belt. Measurements: total length with the scabbard: 40 ¾ inches (103 cm), the length without scabbard: 40 inches (101,7cm), length of the blade approximately: 34 ¾ inches (88,2cm). Condition: the sword is in very good condition except for one small dent in the silver scabbard near the drag and one at the mouth, also the scabbard is slightly tightish do to the dryness of the wooden inserts. This is a really gem for a serious collection.

18th-19th century, Indo Persian, Islamic Sword “Khyber Knife” or “Salawar Yatagan”. This is a national sword of the Afridis and many other tribes living in and near the Khyber Pass, Turkistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Details: straight and heavy single-edged Damascus steel blade tapering gradually from the hilt to the point with wide rib at the back, the hilt is formed of two pieces of rhino horn riveted to the tang, guard- the slight projection of the hilt. Overall length: 70 cm (27 ½ inches). Condition: in good condition.

19th century, Indo Persian, Islamic dagger “Pesh-Kabz”, very popular in Iran, Turkistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Details: straight and heavy single-edged blade tapering gradually from the hilt to the point with wide rib at the back, the hilt is formed of two pieces of bon grips riveted to the tang. The dagger is with its original leather covered wooden scabbard. Overall length: 17 ¾ inches (45cm).
