Authentic antique 19th century extremely well executed meerschaum pipe bowl, depicting the head of Napoleon Bonaparte in his characteristic hat. The eyes are made of black glass. The pipe comes with a custom made modeled to shape velvet covered base. Meerschaum is a soft white mineral sometimes found floating on the Black Sea, and rather suggestive of sea-foam (German: Meerschaum), whence also the French name for the same substance, Ecume de Mer.
CONDITION: The pipe is in good condition considering its age with a lovely patina and signs of usage.
MEASUREMENTS: 10 cm x 7cm (3 7/8 in x 2 3/4 in).

Cigarette case made of silver, gold and enamel. It was a gift to someone special whose initials are EI; these initials are made of gold and riveted to the top lid. In background are signatures of the people who have founded this cigarettes case - are hand made in gold. On the back is a signature in gold, a hand chiseled coat of arms and Russian writing. Inside the cigarette case is engraved another dedication in Cyrillic writing, the maker’s stamp and Russian Imperial silver mark 84 with the woman’s head. I was able to find the maker’s stamp in the book “Gold and Silver Art XV-XX” on page 209 (the photocopy is attached to the listing). The cigarette case is 4 inches long, 3 inches wide and it weighs 200 grams (7 ounces).
