Early 20 century, bronze plaque of Stanislaw Staszic; a priest, philosopher, statesman, geologist, scholar; poet and writer one of the leaders of the Polish Enlightenment (1755-1826) signed by Jozef Aumiller with the stamp on the back of the foundry “Mennica Panstwowa”. “Józef (Joseph) Aumiller (1892-1963)-sculptor and engraver. Between 1925-39 art director of the Polish foundry “Mennica Panstwowa”. His style reflects influences of the French artist since frequently he visited Paris before WWII. He was the author of the most projects-portrait plaques done in the foundry “Mennica Panstwowa”. MEASUREMENTS: Size: 2 ½ inches (8,4 cm) x 3 ½ inches (9,3 cm). CONDITION: good, nice age patina.
