Cast Bronze Celtic Ritual sickle from the Hallstatt Culture (about 800 to 475BC). The Hallstatt culture was the predominant Central European culture during the local Bronze Age, and introduced the Iron Age. It is named for its type site, Hallstatt, a lakeside village in the Austrian Salzkammergut southeast of Salzburg.
The Roman Author Pliny the Elder described the Celtic ritual gathering of mistletoe which was found growing on an oak tree. A Druid, dressed in white, cut the mistletoe using a sickle and allowed it to fall on to a white piece of cloth. This ritual took place on the 6th night after the new moon. From this account, we see that the Druids held some importance to the color white, and use of a sickle.
MEASUREMENTS: 8 inches (20,3 cm) long.
CONDITION: green patina with earthen encrustation

Authentic antique Imperial Russian solid gold and enamel egg, late 19th century/early 20th century. Details: made of gold with beautiful details, quite heavy considering its size, covered by celadon goldish color enamel, stamped on the suspension rings with the number “56” which is the Imperial mark for 14K gold, there are no other marks in view of the fact that the egg is very small. No Faberge marks are to be seen, but the hand workmanship is of good quality, and unmistakably Faberge in character.
I have attached picture from the book showing all the different styles of Faberge eggs and few identical to this collection. These eggs were made for the upper class by various goldsmiths employed in Faberge workshop, and sold in Faberge store in St. Petersburg.
CONDITION: good with showing the age patina.
MEASUREMENTS: 2 cm (¾ inches) tall. Weight: 4 grams
