Authentic antique rare and a fine ancient Chinese bronze sword from Western Han Dynasty Period (202BC-24AD) with straight double-edged blade, round hilt with disc shape pommel. The sword is well balanced for cutting and stabbing as a practical close combat weapon.
CONDITION: the sword is broken and repaired, a beautiful green patina with the areas of deterioration. The blade is still sharp and it showing its age and usage. MEASUREMENTS: overall length: 45 cm (17 ¾ in), length of the blade: 35cm (13 ¾ in) width of blade at widest point: 4.5cm (1 ¾ in) REFERENCES: Very similar swords are published in the Catalogue “International Exhibition Of Chinese Art “by Royal Academy of Arts London 1935- number Illustrated Supplement to the catalogue 3s.6d. illustration 155, page 13.
