Antique early 19th century, circa 1806 German-Bavarian Napoleonic cavalry officer’s sword. Details: A brass hilt pierced and scalloped, retaining its original leather bound wooden grip, a helmet pommel with the integral backpiece, a slightly curved single edged long blade cut with a broad full-length fuller engraved at the forte with a crowned royal cipher of King Maximilian I of Bavaria. This particular model of saber, with many variations, was used through the Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars by the French, Austrian, and German Cavalry.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 85 cm (33 1/2 inches). CONDITION: The sword is in very good condition overall considering its age, which is over 200 years. ALL OUR ARTIFACTS ARE ACCOMPANIED BY A CERTIFICATION OF AUTHENTICITY
