This golden bronze, on a marble base, by Robert Bousquet is a fine example of his work. Bousquet was born in 1894 and died in 1917 at the age of 23.His work was exhibited in the Paris Salon from 1912-1914. This particular bronze depicts two dogs one in an upright form and the other in a resting form. The dog standing measures 13 1/2 in. at its tallest point and 19 1/4 in. at its widest point. A powerful western bronze by Carl Kauba. Depicting a bucking horse and rider.As an Austrian artisan he is well known.Many of Kuaba's bronzes were exported to the Untied States from 1895-1912. They were widely advertised and sold to the public by Latendorfer in New York in the 1950's.
