| From an Estate a great mid century Impressionist Watercolor Landscape Painting of Hereford Cattle in what appears to be either West Texas, parts of Central Texas or South Texas. A Barbed wire fence and scrub brush separates the foreground from the Cattle,on the fence sit two Crows, in the background is the clear blue sky of a hot day above the Hills. A painting which accurately catches the essence of a small group of Cattle on a hot Texas day in the shade of scrub brush, If you are a Rancher or a Cattle collector this is a scene you have in your memory and is beautiful painting for your wall. The painting is on Watercolor paper and is artist signed lower right corner E. L.BUTLER. I find a Mrs. L. Butler listed in Texas in San Antonio 1931. This may or may not be that particular artist. The estimated age of this painting is 1960-80 based on the framing. Closer to the 60's would be my guess. SIZE: framed 32" X 16" ..Image size: 17" x 10". Weight: 9 lbs packed weight. CONDITION: both frame and painting are in excellent condition..the darkened area on the edge of the Kraft paper backing appears to be wax and is scented. Not sure why it is so. .the backing could easily be replaced. Beautiful and excellent original painting to add to a vintage Texas Collection. | |||||||||||||
