An unusual and very well carved soapstone figure group (with natural black and red inclusions) depicting four deer and a monkey holding a lotus seed pod. This item was made in China circa 1850-1875, and was possibly intended as a brush rest / water pot and decorative object for the scholar's table. Condition - very good - no damages or restoration. 24cm (9.5ins) long; 11cm (4.3ins) high.

A small carved "Cantonese" ivory plaque depicting a group of seven people around a table in a courtyard garden. This item was made for export in Guangdong, China, in the first half of the 19th century, probably during the reign of the Daoguang emperor (1821-1850). Condition - there are chips to edges and there are scratches and traces of old glue to the back suggesting that this item was part of a larger object. possibly a piece of furniture. 4cm (1.6in) wide. Please note - purchasers from outside the European Union will require a CITES Certificate and may also require import documentation within their own country.

A yellow ground "Birthday Bowl" finely painted with famille rose enamels and decorated with four roundels containing the characters "Wan Shou Wu Jiang" which translates as "Ten thousand years of age without boundary" meaning "Live for ever". On the base is the six character iron red mark of the Guangxu emperor and this item was made during his reign (1875-1908). Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 7.4cm (2.9ins) high; 10.7cm (4.4ins) diameter.

An archaic style jar with "soft paste" style crackle-glaze and simulated metal mounts depicting an historical battle scene in thick "rose/verte" polychrome enamels. The base carries the unusual apocryphal mark "first year Chenghua" (1465) but this item was made later, in the 19th Century, possibly during the reign of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874) when this style was introduced. Condition - excellent - there are minor surface iperfections but no damages and no restoration. 12.7cm (5 inches) high.

A very large bronze (copper tin alloy) vase cast in Han dynasty Hu form with Taotie mask handles and late Shang / early Zhou Dynasty style Taotie decoration. A 1973 British Museum letter (enlargement 12) suggests an 18th/19th Century dating but we believe that this item was made a little earlier, in the late Ming dynasty, during the 16th/17th Century. Condition - there are old repairs and losses, particularly to the base (please view enlargements). 49.5cm (19.5 inches)high; weight 8.9kg (19.6lb).
16/17世纪作高古风青铜大壶
一件仿汉代风格的青铜（铜锡合金）大壶，铺首耳衔环，壶身有商晚期/周早期风格的饕餮纹饰。一封写于1973年来自大英博物馆的信件中，认为此件大壶为18/19世纪，但是我们认为此件应稍早些，可能为16/17世纪明晚期。

A Chinese Cloisonne Enamel "Altar" Vase. "MADE IN CHINA" is carved into the base. This item was made, circa 1900, for export to Europe or America. Condition - there is water damage to the inside of the mouth - but otherwise it is in very good condition with no impact damages and no repairs or restoration. 32cm (12.5 inches high); 17.8cm (7 inches) diameter.

A rare, large, early 18th Century "Yen Yen" vase finely painted with thick Famille Rose / Fencai enamels depicting scenes from the Daoist legend of Xi Wang Mu. This item was made in China during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1736). Condition - there is excellent restoration and overspraying to an area on the rim (please view enlargement 8) which conceals two adjacent 1cm rim chips; there are no associated hairline cracks. There are also extensive losses to the light green enamel decoration (see enlargements 10 and 12). 44.5cm (17.5 inches)high. Weight 4kg (8lb 13oz).

An intricately carved soapstone wine (or tea) pot with attractive "Chicken Blood" red inclusions. This item was made in China, circa 1870-1900, during the late Qing dynasty. Condition - the spout has been broken and re-glued; there are minor chips to the prunus branch decoration and to the tip of the spout （additional enlargements available on request）. 19cm (7.5 inches) long; 10cm (4 inches) high. Weight - 740gm (23oz).
