An very attractive Satsuma koro finely decorated with 'famille-verte' enamels and made during the Meiji period (1868-1911). A phoenix (in flight, amongst clouds) is painted on each side. The cover is in the form of a Shishi on rockwork. Condition very good. There are two chips on the underside of the cover. No further damage and no restoration. 5 inches (13cm) High

SOLD to Belgium - March 2008 售至比利时 - 2008年 3月 

An exquisitely carved ivory umbrella handle depicting three monkeys at play. The base is signed. This item was made, circa 1890-1910, during the Meiji period. There is the usual yellowing and age related cracks. The 'skeleton' of the umbrella is without fabric and this item is being sold either for renovation or for the handle. 11.2 inches (28.5cm) long. Please note - purchasers from outside the European Union will require a CITES Certificate and may also require import documentation within their own country. 0.9 inches (2.2cm) square.

一件雕刻精美的象牙伞柄,上有三只小猴在戏耍。底有署名。为日本明治时期约1890-1910年间的作品。
品相:因年代久远象牙有泛黄和开裂的迹象。伞骨架尚存,但伞布已失。长28.5厘米。2.2厘米见方。

SOLD to ITALY - January 2009 

An unusual, press molded, biscuit glazed Japanese teapot made for export during the Meiji period (1868-1911). There has been some restoration to the cover and the handle of the cover has been re-glued (please see pictures). No further damages. 5 inches (13cm) High 6.3 inches (16cm) Long.

An unusual Japanese earthenware teapot made during the late 19th or early 20th Century. This item depicts 'grotesque' figures engaged in a 'tug of war' and carries a maker's seal mark. There is a slight hairline running from the 'pie-crust' rim. No further damages and no restoration. 5.5 inches (14cm) high (with cover)
