A rare Mahogany table with deeply carved traditional West African style geometric decoration and with elegant stylized antelope form legs. The European shape and African decoration suggests that this item was made for European clients during the Colonial period, is probably Igbo from eastern Nigeria, and was possibly exported to the UK in the 1950s or 1960s during the period of transition to Independence. Condition: very good - no damages or repairs. Top 74cm (29.1 inches) x 58.5cm ( 23 inches). 67 cm ( 26.3 inches) high

A decorative Sub-Saharan African knife - possibly from the Sudan - with crocodile styled red leather sheath incorporating real crocodile head. This item was made during the early to mid 20th Century circa 1920-1950. Condition - very good - no damages. 85cm (33.5cm)in length; blade 43cm (16.8 inches) long

An attractive pair of Yoruba Ibeji twin figures probably carves during the 1920s or 1930s. Condition - there is an age crack to the male figure and half of the base of the female figure is missing. Male figure 7.8 inches (19.8cm) high, Female 7 inches (18cm) high.

A well carved, painted, terracotta pipe made by skilled potters of either the Bamessing or the Babungo on the Cameroon Grasfields. Originally, only Kings, chiefs and court officials would have smoked prestige pipes of this kind but the potters were quick to create these pipes for sale to Europeans even before the colonial period. This pipe portrays a dignatory with his elaborate hat (possibly beaded). There are pipe heads of this type on display in the Liverpool World Museum. This item was probably made early in the 20th Century circa 1900-1940. Condition is very good. There are chips to the headress (please see pictures) and wear to the painted areas. Height 6.75 inches(17cm)

A large earthenware Zulu mug with incised decoration probably for drinking traditional beer - umqombothi. Made early to mid 20th Century circa 1920-1960. There is a large chip inside the rim and also a similar sized repaired rim chip. 6.5 inches (16.5cm) High.

A good carved Shetani (spirit figure) from either Kenya or Tanzania and dating to the 1950s/1960s (or earlier). There are typical age related cracks and there is an old, crude, glue repair to the base (please see pictures). Height 12.5 inches(32cm).
