GBP 145 

An old, probably Malaysian, keris/kris with wavy iron blade. The hilt is of typical styalized garuda head form and has a paktong metal collar. The varnished wood scabbard is decorated with repouse engraved white metal(probably silver) mounts. Condition - good. There is a drill hole (for hanging) to the top of the scabbard and sections have been cut out of the metal mounts on the reverse side. Total length 19 inches (48cm), blade - 15 inches (38cm).

A very rare, superbly decorated, lobed vase in the shape of a draw string purse, delicately painted with fencai enamels in imitation of Beijing enamel. The base carries the seal mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736 - 1795) but this item was made later circa 1870 - 1910. Condition - excellent - absolutely no damages no enamel losses and no restoration. 11 inches ( 28cm) high.

A fine,very well potted, 17/18th Century baluster shaped vase (without cover) well painted in shades of underglaze blue, depicting prunus blossom against a "cracked ice" ground.This item was made during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662 - 1722). Condition - excellent. There is a possibility that the rim may have been very slightly reduced and there is an extemely faint (glaze only) crack to the base. No chips, no restoration, 8.75 inches (22.2cm) high.

A well painted pair of Kangxi style rouleau shaped vases decorated in underglaze blue with branches of prunus blossom. These items were made, circa 1880 - 1920, during either the late Qing or early Republic periods. Condition - each has a small hole drilled 1.5 inches (3cm) above the base. One vase has a chip and associated crack to the footrim. No further damage and no restoration. 13.5 inches (35cm) high.

An underglaze blue painted jar and cover decorated in 17th/18th Century Kangxi style with prunus blossoms against a "cracked ice" back ground. This item was made later, during the late Qing or early Republic period, circa 1910 to 1920. Condition - very good. There is a shallow surface chip to the top of the neck. No further chips, no cracks and no restoration. 5.8 inches (24.5cm) high.

An unusual pair of Dehua "blanc de Chine" vases, moulded in archaic style. These pieces apear to have been made in imitation of Song dynasty ding ware. For a ding vase with similar decorative features please see item 1287 (page 125) in the 1935-6 Royal Academy (London) International Exhibition of Chinese Art catalogue. A well patinated 16th/17th Century bronze Gu form vase cast archaic Shang dynasty style. This is from the collection of the late Reverend Victor Farmer. Condition - the interior base has been replaced or re-glued and there are the usual 'production' repairs - made at the time of manufacture. This item was probably made during the reign of the Wanli emperor - 1573 to 1619. 11.7 inches (30cm) high.

A gilt bronze belt hook unusually cast with a bat's head to the centre and with a dragon head terminal. This item was made either during the early Western Han Dynasty or the late Warring States period of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty - circa 3rd to 4th Century BC. GBP 48 - SOLD to USA - JULY 08 

A small gu shaped vase decorated in 17th century style with wucai enamels. this item was made during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662 to 1722). Condition - there are large chips and fritting to the rim and there is a 3cm hairline running from the rim. There is also some fritting to the enamels at the base
