A sepik river, Papua New Guinea mask consisting of the carapace of a tortoise decorated with cowrie shells, boars tusks and bird of paradise feathers. This item was probably made during the 1970s. Condition - very good - no losses. 9 inches (23cm) High x 7 inches (18cm) wide - excluding feathers.

A rare carved Sepik River Mask decorated with applied cowrie, other shells and human hair. This item is 'old' by Papua New Guinea standards having been made pre 1970. There are losses to the applied decoration (some having been re-glued) and one of the boars tusks is missing from the nose. 16.5 inches (42cm) Long.

A well carved, painted, terracotta pipe made by skilled potters of either the Bamessing or the Babungo on the Cameroon Grasfields. Originally, only Kings, chiefs and court officials would have smoked prestige pipes of this kind but the potters were quick to create these pipes for sale to Europeans even before the colonial period. An attractive pair of hardwood carvings of a man and a woman in traditional Balinese costume. These items were made for the "tourist " market mid 20th century (circa 1920-1960). Condition - very good. A removeable hilt is missing from the kriss (Indonesian ceremonial knife) which is tucked into the back of the man's sarong. Otherwise no damages and no restoration. Man -13inches(33cm) high. Woman 12.5inches(32cm) high.
