A bamboo Bitong (brushpot) depicting a finely carved continuous (360 degree) traditional Chinese landscape. The number 49 is carved on the base and into one foot. This item probably dates to 1949 - the first year of the Peoples Republic. Condition - there are two small chips to the rim (please view enlargement no. 9) and there is a crack to the base. 17.5cm (6.9ins) high.
