A rare European shape coffee pot decorated in Chinese taste with "famille-rose" enamels and made either for export or for the domestic market where there was an enthusiasm for European style. This item was made during the reign of the Qianlong emperor - 1736 to 1795. For a very similar example please see Sotheby's Olympia (London) 7 April 2004, lot 279. Condition - the cover has been extensively restored. The coffee pot itself is in excellent condition with no damages and no restoration. Height - 11.5 inches (29cm).
