DANISH Sterling ~ GEORG JENSEN ~ Bangle MODERNIST 60's
A fine Danish Modern sterling silver bracelet produced by Georg Jensen in the 60's or 70's. A bangle, elegant in its simplicity, produced from a single rod of squared sterling rod. It measures 2 5/8 inches in outside diameter, 2 3/8 inches interior diameter, is a bit more than 1/8 inch in width and the piece is very well crafted by Jensen from very heavy gauge sterling. The interior is fully hallmarked with the beaded oval Georg Jensen maker's mark, Sterling, Denmark and impressed with design #51a. There are a number of Modernist Jensen pieces illustrated in both New Design in Jewelry by Donald Wilcox (1970) and in Danish Jewelry by Jacob Thage (1990). The condition of this vintage Jensen bangle is excellent.
