Large Jama Coaque Ceremonial Vessel
Large and quite imposing buff terracotta standing shaman holding a scepter and what appears to be a "fan". Dressed in regalia with Headpiece, multiple necklaces with anthropomorphic pendant, pectoral, wrist bands, and ear spools. Polychrome geometric apron. Attached to an open and deep cylindrical vessel with decorated designs in black, green and gold on a buff ground. Visible repair on scepter, else in perfect condition. Length: 15 inches. Height: 10 inches. Jamacoaque, Ecuador, Ca. 500BC-500AD. From an old and established NYC collection
