A Pair of Ceramic Moche Gourd Vessels
A unique pair of long tapering vessels in the form of a gourd, decorated with three horizontal registers of step design and vertical stripes, in red and black on a creamy white slip. Height: 9.75 inches. Condition: Good, one vessel is reassembled from multiple large fragments, with no new material or paint, the other has several large stress cracks. Both are sensitively made and are very thin walled. Moche, North Coast Peru, ca. 200-900AD. Collection history available.
