A large hand carved giltwood putto (singular of putti) or cherub playing a violin mounted as a bracket shelf dating to the latter part of the 19th century and most likely Italian in origin. This shelf measures 17 1/2" tall, extends 10 1/2" out from the wall and is 15" across the widest point at the back.

A beautifully carved antique museum quality frame with gold gilding and a verdigris patina. This is an outstanding frame and will compliment a fine piece of art or an antique porcelain plaque of the proper dimensions. It is in very good condition for its age with normal signs of wear. A lovely deep cove molded frame in lemon gilt (also known as silver gilt) dating to the 19th century. It is carved from one piece of pine with gesso and gilding, with the back outside edge ebonized and the cove reeded with striped of burnished and non-burnished gilding. It would work well in either the landscape or portrait positions. The condition is good for its age with normal signs of wear to the gilding on the top edge and corners.
