$300

Antique Khmer gilt bracelet, with nice designs, probably core of precious wood or ivory, 12th century. The bangle is thickest on the middle and then tapers towards the ends. Traces of sediment from the burial. The gold is hammered, the designs handworked and then it was applied as a gold-sheet over the core. A few places with tiny holes in the gold sheet, but they are very small and not really noticeable. The bangle bends relatively easy and is light so the core is probably wood or ivory, but I'm not sure. I found this old bracelet stuck away in a box that has not been opened for years, I collected the piece back in 1994 in Bangkok. Weight ca. 15 grams. Outer/inner diameter: 6.4 cm/5.5 cm. Thickness center: ca. 0.5 cm, ends: 0.3 cm. Can be worn.
