Very old and rare sculpture of Maya Devi, mother of Lord Buddha, Nepalese ca. 12th c, black hard stone. Maya Devi has a serene face with arched eye brows and finely carved eyes, nose and mouth and there is a halo behind the head. Maya Devi's left hand is leaning on a white elephant that occurred in her dreams when she was pregnant with Lord Buddha and is a symbol of Royalty in Asia. Many exquisite details on the kimono, the hairdress etc. The serene face of the Geisha is absolutely beautiful in very whitish glazed porcelain with superb shadowing making her look very lively. A well preserved Burmese hunting horn from the tribal Shan states. Made of carved bamboo. The end of the horn has been decorated with a rolled on thin thread. All the horn is covered with the typical Shan black lacquer coat, this lacquer made the horn dry in all weather conditions. A sort of mechanism to make the sound vibrating has been inlaid 13 cm from the thin blowing end. Looks like the mechanism was attached with lead. A nicely carved wooden opium weight box with scale in bronze and bowls in iron. Burmese ca. 1850. This is a complete set of a merchant scale with box. The box is a smooth black lacquered type and the wood is smooth to the touch! This type of weight was used in Burma for weighting opium and other expensive commodities. A rare pair of Khmer arm-rings dating back to ca. 12th c. Circular arm-rings with a lenticular shaped cross-section if not for the extra band encircling both arm-rings. Patina varies a lot from copperish to silver bronze to variations of green... Surface in places crusty in places smooth. Diameter: 10 cm, Hight inside/outside: 2.3 cm/1.5 cm. Weight: piece 1: 453 grams, piece 2: 451 grams.

A Turkish traveling pen case from Ottoman era, made of brass. The elongated part is hinged in one end and is used for paper and pen. The barrel-shaped inkwell also hinged and nicely decorated. The stamp of the manufacturer? is on the front, left of the inkwell, but can not be clearly seen. Condition: Very good, except two dents seen on the back side, and a very small hardly noticeable one on the front. With proper tools and knowledge I'm sure the dents can be fixed or made smaller.
