A Nepalese wooden temple strut with a four-armed Shiva standing on Nandi under what is possibly the wish-fulfilling tree (kalpavriksa), below the Nandi a beautiful carved Lotus base under which we see a scene from the Tantric Buddhism: a man and woman making love. H: 109 cm.

Prajnaparamita, the Buddhist goddess of perfection of wisdom, 17th perhaps 16th century. This is an excellent statue with great detail like the necklace, earrings, the crown and thge dress. Prajnaparamita is seated on a double lotus base, with one hand in the teaching mudra and one hand in meditation mudra with a small jar probably containing amrita (Ambra nectar of the gods). The clay core still present. Height: 12 cm

Durga Mahishasuramardini in gilt copper repousse, Nepal, ca. 1850 AD. A beautiful representation of Durga defeating the buffalo-demon Mahisha. Durga standing on an elaborate single lotusbase has 18 hands holding her different attributes of which many is clearly seen, i.e the thunderbolt, the bow, the sword and the drum. A wonderfully sculpted Garuda, Bronze, made by lost wax method, probably by Newari craftsmen, Kathmandu valley, Nepal, circa 1850 AD. As you can see Garuda is ready to set off with his set of double wings. Garuda has beautiful jewelry in his crown, his ears and around his neck. Garudas face is nicely done with huge eyebrows, many details. Feathers, hands and claws are also superbly modelled. Standing on a beautiful single Lotusbase. Nice patina. No traces of gilt. Fine Nepalese wine ewer made of bronze. Decorated with lotus leaves and other small nice embossments. Good shape. Early to mid 19th c. Condition is good, no dents, but of course traces of use. The jar is made in two pieces and assembled on the thinnest place on the spout. H: 26 cm

Very old and rare sculpture of Maya Devi, mother of Lord Buddha, Nepalese ca. 12th c, black hard stone. Maya Devi has a serene face with arched eye brows and finely carved eyes, nose and mouth and there is a halo behind the head. Maya Devi's left hand is leaning on a white elephant that occurred in her dreams when she was pregnant with Lord Buddha and is a symbol of Royalty in Asia.
