An exquisite marble and onyx Egyptian Clock with fabulous gilt bronze sphinx and griffons, circa 1885. Dimensions: L: 18.9 in (48cm), D: 7.9 in (20cm), H: 15.7 in (40cm). Good condition, except one marble plate on left slightly cracked, see the last photograph. In very good working condition, with his original key, pendulum and workings, chime on the hour and half hour.

In a finely carved ivory box these Napoleon III (1860) sewing implements are made in finest 18k gold for the Palais Royal in Paris. All the tools are original and stamped with the Eagle's head French guarantee for the first title of gold. Comprising scissors (miss one handle), thimble, bodkin, needle case, stiletto and crochet hook. A very beautiful figural folk art cane, the handle represent a head of bearded man carrying a cap. The shaft decorated with a stylized snake. Origin and period: France, late 1800's.
