¤SET OF THREE JAPANESE CLOISONNE VASES TOTAI TREE BARK

A set of three japanese cloisonne vases: an exquisite pair of high-shouldered ovoid vases, earthenware cloisonne, or totai in the tree bark design, one with blossoming hibiscus, the other with iris and one central porcelain cloisonne vase decorated with birds and blossoming flowers on face. The back of three vases decorated with butterflies. Condition: excellent, a minor superficial wear to the rim of one vase of the pair. Japan, Meiji period, late 19th century. Eartheware vases: 12.1/3in.(31 cm)high, porcelain vase: 13.2/3in. (35cm) high. Signed. See detailed photographs..
