This is a Japanese Kutani Plate with excellent hand painting. Unlike many kutani plates which were painted in quantity by labor, this plate was painted by artist with vivid details and excellent artistic skill. Very nice gilt work. Painting shows traditional Japanese folk story. No two plates of this kind are exactly the same in painting details. Dates to the Meiji period (late 19th to early 20th Century).
This is a fine hexagonal shaped Satsuma vase with fantastic hand painted details covering on the entire vase. The figures faces and gold works are amazing in this small sized vase. A white enameled dragon across the lower body of the vase. A golden maker’s mark on the bottom. There is also a golden Satsuma Mon on the shoulder. Very fine and fascinating detailed works. Meiji period or earlier.
