Early period 17-18 Century Chinese Carved Ivory Guan Yin. This old statue is vividly carved with full of details. Guan yin is holding prayer beads on one hand, and another hand is holding a book scroll. There is a tiny sitting Buddha on her forehead. The hand carving is delicate, detailed and superb.
Nice patina throughout and beautiful old ivory color. Old ivory with natural crack lines on the back of skirt and base as shown in the photos. A small scrap of carved hair pin missing. Otherwise in very good condition for its age. Size: 6.75" or 17 cm tall. Only ships in US. |
