An antique fine Chinese silver bowl from the early 20th Century. Hand Hammered repousse work with flowers and birds. The traditional Chinese flowers on the bowl have special meanings: the plum flowers means friendship through difficult time. The Quail means "Peace and harmony". The openwork on the top rim is made of interconnecting "Wan" character, which means "endless". The bowl has makers mark in Chinese on the bottom. The monogram shows year 1928, but the bowl was made earlier. Good condition with some tarnish. Outside clean and polished. Gilt on the inside. Original Handctafted wooden stand is included. Maker's mark: "ZEE WO" (Shanghai, late19th/early 20th century). Size: 16 cm diameter. 10 cm height without stand. Weight: 306 g or 10.08 oz. |
