Medieval Painted Bone Crucifix Figure
Circa 13th-14th century AD.
The figure of Christ on the cross, shown after death with head drooping and legs transfixed with a single nail through both feet; long hair and full beard. Wears loincloth around waist. Sockets for either arm.
Intended for crucifix.
Very fine condition. Bone, 14 grams, 9.2cm high.
