Bronze Statuette of Mercury
Roman Empire, c. 2nd – 3rd Century AD
Charming bronze statuette of a naked Mercury advancing; atypically wearing winged hat (Petasos) and cloak draped over left shoulder, knotted at the right; holds a money purse in left hand; integral groundline beneath feet.
An excellent composition with very finely executed detailing and a lovely variegated amber and green patina.

Fantastic Tang Kneeling Bactrian Camel
Tang Dynasty, AD 618-906
Terracotta figure of a camel kneeling on forelegs upon base approximating to sides; white slip over whole with various applied pigments. Bearing saddle blanket, zebra skin and laden saddle pack atop side-boards of harness between twin humps.
Full shaggy mane under chin and on head; short stylised tail. Wide alert eye, small rounded ears, flaring nostrils and open mouth bearing teeth.

Superb Large Sui Dynasty Straw-Glazed Attendant
A.D 581-618
Sizeable terracotta figurine with straw-glaze over whole, atypical of the period. Attendant stands facing forwards with arms crooked at elbow and held in position of subservience in front of body; wears long-sleeved gown over long silken trousers. Asymmetrical, sensitively moulded facial features, surmounted by twin-peaked officials cap.

Large redware jug, body of weak elliptical form- conical in lower section, wide dome-like shoulders with palm wreath motif encircling periphery, standing on tall hollowed out foot; length of the tapered neck marked by three tooled constrictions, concave sided either side of constriction, deep bowl-like mouth. Wide lug handle ribbed in section connects just beneath mouth with shoulder.
A good sized solid object.
