Superb Ornate Enamelled Horse Brooch
2nd Century AD
Superbly modeled example of the horse type brooch, five enamelled circles on the rump, blue at centre with red surrounding, body with four, alternating blue and red, breast, shoulder and neck with series of incised concentric circles, strong forehead and muzzle modeled in the round with wide round eye both sides, tall pointy ears and stylised mane.
A superb example of the type.
In excellent condition, measuring 4cm (W) x 2.5cm (H).
