| Gold & Glass Earrings Roman Empire, c. 2nd-3rd century AD. Superb pair of gold pendant earrings, each comprising a box-like square bezel with decorative medial flange and set with blackish-green glass inlay, 'open' gold wire loop and ring on reverse, supporting pendent collared piriform-shaped drop. Gold and glass, 2.16 grams, 27 mm; 2.01 grams, 28 mm. cf. Higgins, R.A. Greek and Roman Jewellery. Provenance: Acquired on the London art market in the late 1990's. Extremely fine condition. | ||
