This ceramic pillow is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. It measures 9 inches by just under 4.5 inches in size. The top has an incised water lily and child nymph like design. The interior features a fabulous dragon on one side and a phoenix on the other. This item dates to the middle 19th century. This rare ginger jar was sold through Ming’s of Honolulu many years ago. It dates from between 1662 to 1722. With its stand it is just over 10 inches tall. The jar its self is about 7 inches tall. There are no cracks or chips but some of the enameling has come off in various places. I have tried to show this clearly in the photographs. The Seal reads “Made during the Yongzheng Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty. Most likely however this is from the Jingdezhen kilns and made during the Daoguang period (1821 – 1850) rather than the earlier Yongzheng period. It was a very common practice of the time to sign pieces with an earlier reign mark (a practice that still continues to this day). The needle work in this panel is really amazing as you can see in the photographs. It has been professionally framed and sold years ago by Norton’s Objects d Art of St. Clair Michigan. The panel measures 3.5 inches wide by 21 inches long. The frame is 10.75 x 33 inches in size. The embroidery has some staining and one small area of damage on the border as pictured in one of the photographs.

This pottery vase (hua) dates to between 221 BC – 206 AD. It is about 13 inches tall and 9 inches wide at the widest point. There are no chips or cracks and the wonderful thing is that some of the original painted decoration is still present. Also as you can see in the pictures some of the grave sediment is still attached to the vase. It is a bit misshapen especially near the top with give is a lot of character. It weighs just over 7 pounds.

This is a wonderful ink and color album by Chen Shuaizu (1723 to 1795) dating to the mid to late 18th century. He is a well-known Chinese official and artist from Hunan China. There are a total of 12 painting plus the front and end boards. Six are calligraphy and six are of vegetables/fruit with insects. All are double page painting as you can see in the photographs. This wonderful tomb figure of a groom stands almost 24 inches tall (61 cm). He done in red clay standing in long robes and cap. His hands are folded and he has a very serene expression on his face. Some slight pigments remain and he is in very good condition with just the usual flaws for a piece this old. There is no serious damage. This very unusual punchbowl features large eyed Goldfish swimming on the inner and other surfaces. It is signed with a Qianlong seal mark in underglaze red. This antique chair cover is from the estate of Bobby Arlen Langell of Oakland California. It was framed under plastic by his Art supply store in the 50's or 60's.
