This is a fabulous Chinese antique figural incense burner. It stands about 17 1/2 inches tall with the stand and about 20 inches wide at the widest point. The total weight is right around 8 lbs. The birds are each just over 15 inches long. The wings come off to revel the hollow bodies of the birds. It was obviously made to be a censer for burning incense. This is a truly spectacular Chinese cloisonné vase with dragonfly's and flowering lotus plants on a black background. The detail and execution are remarkable to say the least. In the many years that I have been researching cloisonné I have never seen anything like this. Condition: excellent, not chips or losses but it does show its age. Height: 15 1/2 inches.
