A bold dark colored Imari porcelain bowl dating from the end of the Edo period (1615-1868). This wonderful bowl features a fantastic cobalt dragon in a roundel in the center and other dragons in different colors in other roundels. It is signed and in excellent condition. There are no scratches or chips or any other damage. It measures 9 inches across and 4 inches high.

This exquisite Satsuma Cat is about 9 x 5 x 4 inches in size. It is in excellent condition with glaze crazing do to its age. There are no chips or cracks to the porcelain and the gilding is near perfect. Unlike many of the Kutani Cats for sale today this one is truly antique. It is signed and hand painted. By the workmanship and design I would date this to between 1850 - 1900. It is an unusual shape and size a bit like a modern deep dish Pizza pan. Very detailed design as you can see in the pictures. The folding screen on the left side is fabulous. The inside bottom of the dish is very wavy and uneven from when it was made. Part of the inside pattern is repeated in a larger scale on the reverse side. There are some slight scratches on the bottom of the inside from when this was used in the past ...click for details
