This is a fabulous Chinese antique figural incense burner. It stands about 17 1/2 inches tall with the stand and about 20 inches wide at the widest point. The total weight is right around 8 lbs. The birds are each just over 15 inches long. The wings come off to revel the hollow bodies of the birds. It was obviously made to be a censer for burning incense. By the size it could have been used in a temple. The stand is almost 12 1/2 inches high at the highest point. The stand shows some are ...click for details

Unless you are a expert Japanese dolls of this type are very hard to date. This doll is obviously pre 1900 and I would date to around 1870 but that is as close as I can come to a date. The bed roll is uncommon as far as I can tell The details and extreme care with which he has been made show this to be of superior workmanship. The tip of the baton is damaged and needs repainting. The top of the sword looks a littl ...click for details

This is a very rare type of Mud Man figure in form of Buddha's head. It is complete with its original hand carved wooden stand. It is stamped "CHINA" so it dates from between 1890 and 1919. It is 11 inches high with the stand. The head alone is about 8 inches high and about 6 inches wide. The glaze has some heavy cracking and glaze cracks but there are no chips or clay cracks. Don't pass on this one you may never see another one.
