| This is a beautiful well executed One-Hundred Boys jar with original intricately carved rosewood stand. There is no makes mark but there is a good possibly that this was made in a workshop based in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, China about the time stated in the title. It is decorated with the motif of one-hundred boys engaging in activities; mountains, trees, and houses serve as supporting visual details to enclose each scene. This follows typical Tongzhi iconography. The jar is 24 cm. high and 22 cm wide without the base. Condition. There is a small 3 mm x 1 mm chip on the edge of the jar rim. Also on the inside of the base rim there is a old chip 20 mm long. This chip does not show when the jar is displayed as it is only on the inside of the rim. This item was professionally appraised. | ||
