Rare royal Ebony jewelry/money box from Kandy, Sri Lanka, 19 century. The entire box, inside and outside is made of a very beautiful quality of ebony including all interior compartments. A flat flipping surface inside cover with Velvet was probably used for writing or signing documents. Perfect condition.
The goddess of Mercy standing in a S-shaped motion on a round lotus base ( replaced). Her hair drawn up a twisted topknot, head lowered slightly and the face carved with peaceful expression. Her hands held at the waist holding a scroll on the right. Very good condition and beautiful wood patina.

Very well carved and unique rice dispatcher from Tamil Naddu, southern India.19 century. Nicely carved with Buddhist figures such as Shiva and Ganesa. Used in rice field to dispatch rice in order to always keep the same space in between each seed dropped on the earth. The circular part of the dispatcher was tide up to a canvas bag full of rice seed to allow rice to drop from the small holes. Very good condition. ...click for details
