This item is hanging scroll with our original Japanese hand towel (Tenugui) which is hand perfected by artisan having taken over the traditional Edo workmanship.
This hand-dyed item would change impression of your home by its own unique design, and it also can serve as a partition such as "Noren", Japanese traditional split curtain. Wood pipes both side of cloth stretch cloth well when you hang the item on. The item can be used as tapestry or ornament of the house. "Furinkazan"-Battle standard of Takeda Shingen

"Furinkazan" is a proverb from Chinese military treatise"The Art Of War" , meaning fast as the wind, silent as a forest, ferocious as fire and immovable as a mountain.
Color of the original battle standard was gold letter on navy cloth, but we choose deep vermilion such as Japanese traditional lacquer ware. This deep red color which is not so common in modern scene has been traditional color of Old Japan. The Artisan recreated the traditional red with his outstanding technique, and machine can never copy same coloring. And not only color of cloth but also Chinese character written with a brush represents its own powerful personality

This handkerchief is made with white unbleached cotton cloth, and black circle "Enso" which is image of Japanese calligraphy.
Since the old time of Japan, there has been a deep meaning in "Enso" Circle written by Zen Buddhists. "Enso" symbolizes spiritual awakening, the universe, and also "void" which is the innermost secrets of Zen so that only true Zen Buddhists can attain that stained of mind. We have chosen this simple circle from Zen to represent old Japanese design with deep meaning.

Embroidery "Ai"- Ragaraja (Aizenmyo)

Chinese character "Ai" is embroidered on the cloth. The origin of the character comes from Kabuto ornament of Naoe Kanetsugu, famous general of the Japanese Warring States Period.
"Ai" is the first letter of Ragaraja, or Atago(Japanese traditional Fireproofing God). Atago had been believed by the Samurais as the god of the war. Deep red-colored embroidery represents not only glow of Ragaraja, but also symbolic color of Atago who is God of fire prevention.
This item is hand perfected with Japanese traditional hand-print technique. Dye technique of Japan is the highest level in the world, and it is famous for delicate patterns in detail. This handkerchief also expresses energy of the calligraphy with old Japanese works.

Chinese character "Bi" is embroidered on the cloth. The origin of the character comes from camp flag of Uesugi Kensin, general of Echigo in the Warring States Period. "Bi" means Vaisravana, guardian of the northern direction. And the camp flag with "Bi" had been flaunting in headquarters of Uesugi Kensin. We avoid snow-white to express image of Battle areas' flag, so color of the cloth have become unbleached white color with black embroidery.
