A blue and white Kangxi period Yenyen vase
strongly potted with a baluster body and a widely flaring trumpet neck, painted all over with peony flowers. Within the foot rim is an underglaze blue double ring, the whole covered in a clear glaze stopping at the edge of the foot rim.
Height: 45cm

Each bowl is unusually enamelled around the exterior with two large long curling branches of leafy peach with clusters and single ripe fruit hanging from it, beneath each tree two flying bats bearing ribbonned banners of longevity symbols, all above a continuous band of breaking waves.The interior is undecorated and on the base written in kaishu script in underglaze blue is the mark and period of the Guangxu Emperor Diameter: 16.5cm
